Sea Glider Hybrid Vehicles begin ocean testing in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island

All electrical “sea gliders” that can move between floating and flying have launched a marine trial in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. The test is the prelude to the first crew flight of the vehicle scheduled for later this year, and while it must remain just above the surface, it will be the world's largest battery-powered plane.
Electric aircraft are difficult because they require heavy batteries…
