FBI Issues Warning to Employees

Details regarding how Shiny Hunters gained access to the data remain scarce. The group claimed to have exploited a zero-day bug in Oracle PeopleSoft software, commonly used for HR and financial management. Oracle has yet to address the issue, while Shiny Hunters have indicated their intent to continue leveraging the zero-day for their operations.

The FBI has initiated an investigation into the alleged hack, although the breach is yet to be confirmed. In a statement released by X on Wednesday, the FBI mentioned that they are actively looking into the matter and collaborating with third-party providers to mitigate risks. Shiny Hunters have remained cryptic about the consequences of non-compliance by the FBI. However, cybersecurity experts speculate that the stolen data might be leaked online if their demands are not met. Despite this, the group maintains that their actions are not financially driven.
