We all experience bad odor from the sweat produced by our apocrine glands, which can become contaminated with bacteria.
The problem is that our senses become accustomed to common smells, even dangerous ones. This is called nasal blindness or olfactory fatigue.
This is why, for example, you can’t smell a dog inside your house, but visitors can.
There are suggestions to avoid this, but they are not well researched. One tip is to rub it into your scalp and armpits with clean fingertips and sniff your fingers to alert you.
